The perspective of Korea Vietnam Incubator Park.
The KVIP project was signed in March 2012 between Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade and South Korea's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. KVIP, inaugurated and put into operation on November 14, 2015 in the form of industrial technology incubation, is the first of its kind overseas to receive aid from the South Korean Government.
At KVIP, priorities are given to 3 main sectors including agro product processing, aqua product processing and machines for agro and aqua product processing. Can Tho in particular and the Mekong Delta in general has strengths and advantages in these fields.
KVIP possesses an administration building, a research building, 3 experimental facilities with total investment of USD21.13 million. In the first year of operation, KVIP received and installed machines and equipment amounting to USD2 million for the 3 experimental facilities.

The mechanical workshop at KVIP is equipped with many modern machines to support technology incubation.
As of the end of May 2017, KVIP selected 5 enterprises for incubation including Nhat Viet Co., Ltd; Hoang Thang Co., Ltd; Pham Nghia T&N Co.; Calevy Rice Milk Joint Stock Co. and Vietnam Salangane Raising Co., Ltd. As planned, KVIP will choose two more companies for incubation in the third quarter of 2017. In addition, KVIP will speed up cooperation activities with institutes, universities, research facilities and incubation- related enterprises to carry out a training course on "PLC programing technicians" for automatics engineers from enterprises in Can Tho, and a training course on "Agricultural machine mechanics". So far KVIP has contacted 27 experts from universities and institutes to build a database and looked for highly applicable scientific topics to transfer to enterprises involved in incubation.
"KVIP will create favorable conditions to encourage domestic and foreign companies to take part in researching and developing agro produce with higher added value and joining the global chain of supply. Located in Can Tho, a dynamic city and economic engine of the whole region, KVIP is in a good position to attract foreign investors, especially those from South Korea, to look for opportunities and invest in Can Tho and the Mekong Delta as well," Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Vo Thanh Thong optimistically said.
