Restoring the Can Tho - Da Lat flight route is expected to be a boost to connect trade, tourism and expand the flight network to and from Tay Do, capital of the Mekong Delta region.

According to Vietnam Airlines, on August 19th, the Can Tho - Da Lat route will officially resume operations after nearly 6 years of suspension. Reconnecting these two major economic and tourism hubs not only meets the urgent travel needs of the people but also realizes Can Tho City's great expectations in expanding its aviation network, creating momentum for an economic breakthrough across the entire Mekong Delta region.
Immediately after Lien Khuong International Airport (Lam Dong province) reopened for operations on August 19th, VASCO (a subsidiary of Vietnam Airlines Group) will officially launch the Can Tho - Da Lat route. The route is operated using ATR 72 aircraft with an initial frequency of one round-trip flight per day. However, in September and October, the frequency will be flexibly adjusted to five round-trip flights per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
According to Vietnam Airlines, Can Tho and Da Lat are both markets with very high demand for travel and tourism. Restoring direct flights will not only significantly shorten travel time but also strengthen commercial and cultural connections between the two key economic regions of the Mekong Delta and the Central Highlands.
The resumption of the Can Tho - Da Lat flight route is viewed as good news for the authorities, business community and residents of Can Tho City. As the economic, cultural, commercial, and logistics hub of the Mekong Delta region, the city hopes this flight will mark the beginning of a broader effort to restore and launch numerous air routes connecting to Can Tho International Airport.
In its transportation infrastructure development plan for the 2026-2030 period, Can Tho City identifies enhancing air transport capacity as a strategic task. The city is actively coordinating with the Ministry of Construction, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, and various airlines to restore and increase the frequency of domestic flights. It is also promoting the restoration of routes connecting Can Tho with Hai Phong, Vinh, Thanh Hoa, Quy Nhon and Phu Quoc to complete the inter-regional trade network. Simultaneously, the city is working to resume and establish scheduled international routes connecting Can Tho with regional economic and tourism hubs such as Bangkok (Thailand), Singapore, Seoul (South Korea) and Guangzhou (China).
